Once again it is time for an event that is one of the highlights of our community’s year, the Woodstock Recreation Center Golf Tournament. Every year, Shillen Mackall & Seldon Law Office sponsors a hole in the tournament. Proceeds from the golf tournament benefit the Woodstock Recreation Center, which is a vital pillar of the Town of Woodstock, Vermont.
How Does Woodstock Recreation Center Serve the Community?
The “Rec” has served as the center of many recreational and social activities in the Woodstock area since 1946. The Rec’s 2200-square-foot state-of-the-art fitness center offers a free weight area, cardiovascular equipment, and a 12-piece Precor strength training circuit.
The Rec’s two outdoor swimming pools are open from mid-June to late August. They offer group swim lessons and swim team opportunities. They also offer open swimming daily from 12:00 pm to 5:00 pm. In addition, for early risers, they offer morning adult lap swimming from 6:15 am to 7:00 am and 7:15 am to 8:00 am.
The Rec also offers a water aerobics class on Wednesday evenings from 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm. In addition, they have an outdoor basketball court next to the Rec and tennis courts at Vail Field. Located next to the Rec is the Little Theater. Many utilize the building for special events, dances, live performances, films, and other large group meetings and parties.
